Founded in 2015, nTopology’s nTop Platform “empowers engineers to design revolutionary products” and is in the aerospace, automotive, medical, and consumer industries. Per Crunchbase, the firm has now raised a total of $70M in VC capital since 2016.
The So What: Advanced engineering is changing, with additive engineering and 3D printing just two obvious examples. But, according to the company, engineering design software has not kept pace.
Nearly everything you see around you was designed in a handful of CAD systems whose underlying technology has remained fundamentally unchanged for 40 years. – nTopology Press Release.
The firm’s nTop Platform claims three major innovations versus legacy CAD systems.
Implicit Modeling Engine: A new type of modeling engine technology that is faster and more reliable than traditional modeling approaches.
Field-Driven Design, which allows engineers to use analysis and test results to create models in nTop.
Reusable Workflows: nTop Platform features built-in and user-created capabilities merge in reusable workflows. These systems can be deployed and reused by engineering teams throughout an organization.
